Day One and Already Quite the Adventure

Yes, I've been up since 5 a.m. and only four hours of sleep (I'm guessing). Didn't get to sleep easily. There were so many things to try to get done in order to get me to Disneyland, but I called the day fortunate when my security check went fast and smooth. I don't know why, but that has always freaked me out. I sighed quite heavily in relief.

Everything else after was the adventure. I had a little glitch in my arrangement to get to my hotel and then my credit card started acting up. We eventually got it to work. After all that I needed to go enjoy myself.

I have to say though that coming from 2 1/2 years of not going to crowded places really gave me big time overwhelm. When I walked in, I wasn't sure I could do it. There were so many people! But for me, I have the ability to adjust at least somewhat, so I had to start out easy. That meant going on the smooth and calm rides: the train was a perfect way to start my adjustment.

I stuck around two lands (Adventureland and Frontietland) specifically, but there were times the crowds were starting to make me claustrophobic. I get claustrophobic more with crowds than I do spaces. I survived it though. I managed to survive somehow.

I went wandering around a little in Fantasyland, and spied my good friend the Evil Queen, but I don't think she saw me this time. Just as well. Who knows what friendly gesture she'll offer me? I know our encounter last time may make you think the opposite, but you know her, showing it is a sign of weakness. She secretly likes me...and I love being delusional.

I started getting tired and didn't do much in DCA, but enjoyed the walk. I've already been distracted enough to have to remind myself to eat. So much going on. I was tired enough to go to sleep accidentally; those times when it happens unintentionally. Got to make sure I get something good to eat for breakfast though. I didn't have the energy to go out and get some food. A good time was had by all here.
